Where is AMUNC taking place? AMUNC is being hosted by The University of Adelaide, North Terrace campus, which is located in the city of Adelaide, Australia.
What do all these acronyms mean?AMUNC stands for Asia-Pacific Model United Nations Conference. MUN stand for Model United Nations conference.
How many delegates usually attend AMUNC?Last year in Auckland, New Zealand, AMUNC drew over 500 delegates hailing from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Who is eligible to participate in AMUNC?AMUNC is open to anyone currently enrolled in a university, in either an undergraduate or graduate program. TAFE students are also eligible to attend. Unfortunately, high school students and persons not enrolled in unversity are not eligible to attend the conference.
What is the working language of the conference?English will be the working language of the conference.
What is the dress code for AMUNC?All delegates should present in business attire for all committee sessions, the Opening Ceremony and the General Assembly. Business attire for male delegates is shirt, tie and a suit; for female delegates a smart feminine equivalent, such as a knee length skirt and blouse or women's suit, is acceptable.

What do I need to bring to AMUNC?Apart from the intangibles such as your debating skills, you should bring pens, paper and other basic stationery. If you have a laptop then it is recommended that you bring it. Delegates will be provided with a delegate pack which will contain the rules of procedure and other committee-specific items.
Do I have to participate in the entire week?Yes. By registering, you understand that your participation is mandatory for the entire week. It is very important for the proper functioning of the committees that you attend the whole conference.
I have never participated in a Model United Nations conference before. Can I still attend the conference?AMUNC is suitable for all types of delegates, both beginners and veterans. You are welcome to participate in the conference even if you have never participated in MUN simulations in the past.

here. There will be training workshops at the beginning of the conference to ensure that you are able to fully participate and enjoy the debate over the weekend.
Throughout the conference there will also be plenty of members from the Secretariat team present to answer any questions you have.
How do I prepare for the conference?A useful place to start if you are a beginner is by having a look at the Beginners Guide, the pages located in the participate and prepare menus are also an excellent reference.

RegistrationHow much does registration cost?
Delegate registration fees are $199. Director registration fees are $134. Please also be aware that all delegates will contribute to eliminating the carbon footprint of the conference by contributing $1.57 to carbon offset. Transaction fees will also apply. Delegations are reminded that we are offering a reduced fee of $189 per delegation member until 13 June 2008 only.

What do I get for my registration fee?
Included in your registration fee are delegate packs (including satchel), attendance at all committee sessions and guest speaker sessions, entrance to all social events, committee dinners on Monday night, Finale Ball on Friday night (all inclusive) and print/internet quote for the week.

Can we still register after the registration deadline has passed?Unfortunately, conference registration automatically closes on 15 June 2008. You will have to email us after this date in order to discuss further registration options. NGO program is available until Sunday 6 July 2008 1pm.
How big can delegations be?There is no limit to delegation size.
Can you send us registration forms by email?Unfortunately, our entire registration system is internet based, and so we cannot send out soft copy documents. However, online registration is very easy and, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Accommodation & Visa issuesWill accommodation be arranged for me?Yes. There is accommodation available for delegates, please see the
Accommodation page under the About Adelaide menu.

Financial & Payment InformationCan we pay by non AUD currency?Unfortunately not, all payments must be made in Australian dollars.
Can we pay by other means than credit card?
Payments for AMUNC 2008 registration fees should be carried out using your credit card or debit card. If any delegate experiences problems in doing this, or has individual needs, they should contact us at

Are conference fees refundable?Delegation fees are non-refundable. However, refunds may be given in individual circumstances. Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss a refund.
