General Assembly
The General Assembly is the culmination of the week's activities. It is in this forum that all resolutions from each general committee are voted upon by delegates. This is as close to the real UN as most of you will come!
In 2008, the first resolution from each committee will be voted upon first. For each resolution, one delegate will speak for the resolution, and one against, with no points of information.
Additionally, at the end of the first session, there will be a presentation by a dynamic local foundation that will share with delegates their experiences and raise awareness of the issues surrounding their work.
After a break, in which delegates will have a chance to sample the Taste of SA and explore the Careers Fair, one of the country's finest guest speakers will address the delegates (details to follow soon).
In the second session, the second resolution from each committee will be voted on. At the conclusion of the second session, delegate awards will be presented.
All resolutions that pass the General Assembly will be sent by the AMUNC Secretariat to the United Nations Information Centre in Canberra to be forwarded on hopefully to New York.
