Join Host Team
Many hands make light work, and thus the Host Team is enthusiastic to take on board any students wishing to get involved in organising this amazing conference. This opportunity is extended to anyone who is passionate and commited, and it provides a hands-on experience with the chance to develop a broad range of skills.
The Host Team has departments in the following areas:
• Finance - the Finance team deals with budgeting for conference needs, delegating funds to each department and organising sponsorship for the conference among numerous other tasks. Students studying finance, commerce, business, economics or related fields may find this department attractive.
• Committees - the heart and soul of the conference, this department deals primarily with organising venues, delegates, directors and the general running of the conference. Students studying politics, sociology, international studies and/or who have a general interest in the UN system should find working with this department stimulating and rewarding.
• Delegate Relations - Delegate Relations deals with the welfare of delegates, assists delegates with getting to Adelaide, getting around Adelaide and also works with the Marketing team to train press, promotions and other specialised teams prior to the conference. Students studying the areas listed for committees and/or who have a interest in the UN system will find Delegate Relations very stimulating.
• Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) - ICT maintains the AMUNC website www.amunc.net , designs and provides conference software for AMUNC participants, works with and manages a graphic design team and attends to many other related tasks. Students studying marketing, visual arts, graphic design, multimedia, computer science or other related fields should join as soon as possible.
• Logistics - Logistics is responsible for event management and co-ordination, organising venues for social events and organising accommodation for delegates among other tasks. Students studying public relations, event management, hospitality management or who have an interest in these areas should contact the Host Team as soon as possible.
• Marketing - the Marketing team is responsible for attracting delegates to the conference, organising media liaison and managing and training press and promotions teams among many other tasks. Students studying marketing, communications, media, public relations, writing or other related fields will find Marketing challenging, stimulating and ultimately rewarding.
