Training

The 2008 team places great importance on the value of adequate training as a part of the AMUNC experience. Therefore training will be a compulsory element of participation in AMUNC 2008.

Comprehensive training will take place on Saturday 5 July 2008 for Directors and Assistant Directors, and on Sunday 6 July 2008 for delegates. Delegates will be required to attend one of two sessions, therefore delegates should aim to arrive in Adelaide in time for these sessions.

All delegates are expected to undertake this "conference induction", which includes committee training, cultural awareness and delegate support information, and safety and emergency procedure training. Committee training is designed to furnish delegates with an understanding of the committee procedures from day one and will be interactive so as to ensure that delegates are able to give the rules of procedure a test run before they are called upon to use them in committee sessions. Sessions will also cover communications skills and inter-cultural understanding.

This multi-faceted training will enable delegates to be well-prepared and confident in undertaking their tasks throughout the week.
