Bidding for AMUNC 2011

Hi!

It's great that you're thinking about bidding for AMUNC 2011. Hosting a conference like AMUNC is a wonderful experience, and we'll do our best to make it easy for you to bid, refine your ideas, and ensure a smooth transition between the conferences.

Attached to this page are a few useful PDF documents:

  • AMUNC 2011 bidding guidelines. This is your main reference for the various dates and documents that are important to the bid process, as well as providing details of people you can contact at Sydney to get advice. We are happy to help out if you need us.
  • Extracts from the Sydney 2010 bid. About 3/4 of the text has been removed, and all of the photos (to reduce file size), but the headings remain so you can get an idea of the structure for a bid document (though feel free to modify this structure, as long as you cover the important areas noted in the bidding guidelines). Note that although we appreciate thoroughness, your bid certainly doesn't have to be 200 pages long - it's the quality of the ideas that matter, as long as you can demonstrate you've properly considered them and think they are really feasible.
  • The complete Adelaide 2008 bid. This gives you an example of a full (successful) bid document.

If you have any questions about bidding, please email our Secretary-General, Anshu De Silva Wijeyeratne, at sg@amunc.net. If you have any trouble accessing these files, please email our USG Information Technology, Michael West, at it@amunc.net.

We look forward to seeing you in 2010 and hearing your ideas for 2011!
