Press Gallery
Press Gallery delegates represent media organisations rather than countries. They can poke and probe, influencing debate with detailed research and tough questioning. Like NGO delegates, they are free to move between committees, concentrating on a few that interest them. They also examine the influence of editorial control between different organisations, and the different approaches taken by online, broadcast, and print journalists.
Delegates of the Press Gallery will work to produce content for the daily, online and conference versions of the AMUNC publication The Working Paper. The daily news sheet will feature short reports covering all the drama of committee and the glitz and glamour of the conference socials. The online Working Paper shall replicate content appearing in the daily newsheet, as well as updates, video and the infamous Twitter feed. Prior to the conference, each press delegate will be responsible for producing a feature article examining one of the committee topics under debate. These articles will be circulated to committee members prior to debate, and will be published in a glossy conference edition of The Working Paper which will be circulated at the General Assembly on the final day of the conference.
As part of the reporting process, press will also have the opportunity to interview delegates during committee session and at designated press conferences held each day.
Available media organisations
Below is a list of news organisations available at AMUNC 2010. These are also listed in the country matrix. The International Press Gallery will feature up to 15 organisations.
If you're part of a delegation but would like to participate as part of the Press Gallery, we recommend that you consider selecting a news organisation that reflects one of the countries or regions your university is representing.
